3rd Annual Golf & Gala event a HUGE SUCCESS
Mark Reed Foundation announced at their June meeting that we surpassed the $25,000 fundriasing goal for the signature Golf & Gala event that was held on May 7, 2010. The Foundation pledged $25,000 for a second straight year to the hospital district for the purchase of new equipment. In addition, we were able to provide $1,500 to Elma High School clubs in exchange for their participation at the event.
The hospital's executive team will prioritize items that need to be purchased for the hospital and put in a formal grant request to the Foundation later this year. The Foundation would like to thank every business and community member who volunteered their time and services and/or donated to the event. Our success is due to your generosity and support!

Foundation makes $25,000 grant to Mark Reed Health Care District
In 2009, the Foundation made a $25,000 pledge to the district to assist in the purchase of a much-needed portable ultrasound machine for the Emergency Department.The machine was finally purchased earlier this year and is scheduled to begin implemenation this summer. Green Diamond Resource Company also granted $5,000 toward the new service. Thanks to the support during fundraising efforts throughout the last couple years, the Foundation was able to follow through with their promise to lend support to this new machine and service.
Right before the live auction began at the 2010 Golf & Gala event on May 7th, Tanya Dierick, Foundation president (left) presented hospital CEO Renée Dunham a great big check for $25,000. Actual funds were approved for dispersement at the following board meeting.
